Recent Trajectory
Stockport reached the 2026 League One Play-Off Final but lost 4–1 to Bolton, narrowly missing a return to the second tier for the first time since 2002.
Promotion Outlook
They should remain one of League One’s leading promotion candidates. The next test is winning promotion and proving the project can compete sustainably in the Championship.
Why Follow Them
Follow Stockport for a well-run rise, a packed local ground, and a believable first-ever Premier League journey that would still feel genuinely improbable.
Potential Drawback
They remain in League One, and even after promotion the financial jump from a strong lower-league project to a Premier League contender would be substantial.
